Vogel Bros. Building Co. served as the general contractor for the UW Health AHU-88 Replacement project located at 600 Highland Avenue in Madison, Wisconsin. The project focused on replacement and upgrade of a major air handling unit serving the third-floor and penthouse levels of the facility. The new AHU-88 system delivers approximately 54,000 CFM and is located within the penthouse mechanical area. Work included installation of new heating and cooling coils, humidification components, filtration systems, UV treatment, and associated mechanical, electrical, and control system upgrades. The renovation required detailed coordination within an active healthcare environment, including updates to life safety plans and mechanical systems serving clinical spaces such as surgery, imaging, counseling, and support areas. Through careful planning, system integration, and adherence to healthcare code requirements, Vogel Bros. delivered critical infrastructure improvements that enhance air quality, environmental control, and long-term reliability for UW Health’s clinical operations.
