The project was designed to increase Octopi’s beverage contract packaging (co-packing) production and packaging capacity by 400%. This space holds their new canning line which is nearly four times faster than their existing canning line. Aro Eberle was selected for the design team and Vogel Bros. Building Co. was chosen as the construction partner on the 90,000 square foot production facility which contains office space; a quality control Laboratory; a state-of-the-art canning line; a beverage fermentation celler and a processing facility for blending, mixing, filtering, or dealcholizing beverages of all types. The project takes the industrial building architype to another level by creating attractive packaging for industrial scale processes that typically do not get treated in this way. The project employs weathering steel on the 50’ tall cellar mass that takes on a natural patina and gets better as it ages, rather than fading like a painted panel would. The addition features a 660-panel 270KW solar panel array and a Tesla Megapack battery back-up system for the brewery. The whole project uses high-efficiency lighting, plumbing and HVAC systems throughout.
