The Hooper Corporation project included the demolition of six buildings, reworking of the large truck traffic flow and vehicle parking, and additions to the electric power division maintenance shop and a new 7,600 square foot pipe fabrication shop. The 25,500 square foot maintenance shop includes a 10-ton bridge crane, two 8-ton rotary lifts, and two 38-ton rotary lifts. The pits dug for the lifts proved a challenge for the field crew due to the high water level in this area of Madison. Vogel Bros. Building Co. led the team through a successful City of Madison approval process in just two months, and then begin demolition and construction for this fast-track project. The project includes three Butler metal buildings for the additions which enabled the team to meet the owner’s aggressive schedule.
