Vogel Bros. Building Co. served as the General Contractor for the expansion of the Clermont East Side Water Reclamation Facility, increasing treatment capacity from 4.0 million gallons per day (MGD) to 6.5 MGD. This comprehensive upgrade enhances operational efficiency, reliability, and long-term performance while supporting the City of Clermont’s growing infrastructure needs.
The project included construction of a new headworks facility integrated with a dual-chamber flow equalization basin featuring advanced mechanical and manual screening, grit removal, and odor control systems. A new Biological Nutrient Removal (BNR) reactor with dedicated anoxic and aerobic zones was constructed, incorporating modern mixing, aeration, and automated control systems to optimize nutrient removal and process stability.
Major improvements also included the addition of an 85-foot diameter clarifier with enhanced sludge and scum handling systems, construction of a dual-chamber aerated sludge holding tank, and replacement of critical pumping systems. The expansion introduced new reclaimed water infrastructure, extensive yard piping, valves, and instrumentation upgrades, along with structural, electrical, and stormwater management enhancements.
This expansion positions the Clermont East Side Water Reclamation Facility to meet increasing community demands while integrating advanced treatment technologies that promote environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and sustainable water management.
