Project Description

A building on Madison College’s campus that had been in use and leased by the Penske Truck Leasing Company became available, and Madison College used it as an opportunity to expand their child care services. Previously, they could only care for up to 30 children and cannot serve infants and toddlers. The new building, with additional space and more staff, will allow Madison College to serve up to 50 enrolled children. Vogel Bros. Building Co. remodeled the exterior of the building, upgrading it to match other Madison College buildings in style and material. 355 new solar panels were placed on the roof of the building to save money and provide clean energy. The Center will occupy about 8,500 square feet of the building. All classrooms have dimmable lights, and some of them have been equipped with radiant heating in the floors to make sure the children spending time crawling stay warm and comfortable. Separating the Center from the main building has allowed for increased security and chances to improve the depth of care for each child. Each class has access to their own playground, designed for that specific age group in mind. The remaining portion of the facility will remain for future use by the college.
