Mentor’s project required office space and cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice) pharmaceutical production space featuring FDA approved production space, validated and FDA approved final product storage, 900 sqft (12,600 cf) cold room with a temperature range of 2 to 8 degrees Celsius, and multiple levels of clean room construction. The Clean Rooms range from Class 100,000 to Class 100. Pharmaceutical production area includes raw material storage, aseptic fill line, lyophilizer, vial crimping and final packaging. Vogel Bros. Building Co. was responsible for the management of the move-in and set-up of $8 million worth of owner supplied equipment on a fast-track construction schedule. This required a tremendous amount of coordination between Vogel Bros. Building Co., the owner, and equipment vendors. The design was adjusted throughout the construction of the building as final equipment designs were completed, including incorporating large roof access holes to accommodate installation of the lyophilizer while the building was constructed.
